Traditional Use vs Human Research: How We Separate the Two
Frequently Asked Questions
Does traditional use matter?
Yes. Traditional use tells us how people and cultures have used an herb over time, and I respect that history. I just keep it separate from human clinical research so you can see what kind of evidence you are looking at.
Why can’t traditional use alone prove a health claim?
Because a long history of use does not automatically tell us how well something works, what dose is best, or how safe it is for every person. Human research answers different questions.
Why do preparation and dose matter so much?
Because tea, food, powder, capsules, tinctures, and standardized extracts can deliver very different amounts. I want the evidence to match the product as closely as possible before I connect the two.
