Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare): Menopause Evidence & Safety

1 min read

Fennel is used in food and traditional medicine, but concentrated products should be judged by the exact evidence, not by culinary familiarity.

What the evidence says

A 2021 systematic review identified seven randomized controlled trials in menopausal women. Some placebo-controlled results favored fennel for overall menopause symptoms, but the trials had concerning risks of bias and did not consistently improve sexual function, quality of life, or psychological outcomes.

Evidence strength

Norene’s Farmacy rating: EARLY HUMAN EVIDENCE / LOW-CERTAINTY SUPPORT FOR SOME MENOPAUSE SYMPTOMS.

What we do not claim

We do not claim fennel treats menopause, balances hormones, or replaces medical care.
